Confirm the Sharing Components are installed:
- Click on control panel & open the “Network and Sharing center.”
- On the main setting page, click on the “Change Adapter Settings.”
- Click & open the local connection. Select the option Properties.
- Under the properties section search File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.
- If you don’t find the sharing component then click on ‘Install’ > ‘Service’ > ‘Add’ > “File & Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.” After that follow the instruction to complete the installation.

Steps to Share Files & Folders over the Network?
- Click and select the file/folder which you have to share over the network. Go to the properties of the file from the list.
- Click on sharing > Advanced sharing & share the folder.
- Now you will find a new tab, enter here the name of shared files & number of users.
- If you want to set the permission for access the file then add specific user or group.
Steps to Share Printer:
- Click on ‘Control panel’ > ‘Device & Printers’.
- On the printer device name do right click & select the Properties.
- On the Properties click on “Share’ > ‘Share This Printer.”
- Select a shared name for grant access under the share name. Now click OK.
